Telde, November 10, 2025
The Fundación Canaria Instituto de Ciencias Neurológicas and Hospital ICOT Ciudad de Telde participated yesterday in the Science and Innovation Weeks in the Canary Islands 2025, organized by the Canarian Agency for Research, Innovation, and Information Society (ACIISI). This initiative aims to bring science, technology, and innovation closer to students, sparking their curiosity and encouraging scientific vocations.
During the event, researchers Daniel Pérez-Marcos, Technical Director of the Foundation, and Inés Albajar Gómez, neurologist at Hospital ICOT Ciudad de Telde, delivered two talks to 1st and 2nd-year high school students at IES José Arencibia Gil, from the Technology and Health tracks. Under the title “Brain, mind, and technology”, the sessions showcased how science and innovation are applied in neurorehabilitation solutions, combining technological advances such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
The participation of the ICOT Group, through Hospital ICOT Ciudad de Telde, was crucial in demonstrating practically how advances in neurology are translated into clinical care, helping to spark young people’s interest in science and technology.
Initiatives like this help bring science closer to society, promote local talent, and encourage scientific vocations in the health field, contributing to the development of a strong scientific culture in the Canary Islands.
