On December 12, 2025, the Canary Islands Ministry of Health brought together nearly one hundred professionals involved in clinical research and clinical trials at the University Hospital of Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín, including the Technical Director of the Canary Foundation Institute of Neurological Sciences, Daniel Pérez-Marcos.
During this first edition of the Conference on Clinical Research and Clinical Trials, organized by the Canary Islands Health Research Institute (FIISC-IISC), the complete lifecycle of a clinical trial was addressed in a practical manner from multiple perspectives:

The real-life experience of principal investigators from different hospitals.

The key role of Study Coordinators, Data Entry staff, and Study Nurses.

The perspective of the hospital pharmacy service and contractual aspects.
It was an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and promote clinical research in Gran Canaria, highlighting the value of collaborative work between healthcare and research professionals.
